The Best Beaches in Los Cabos

If you have chosen Los Cabos as your vacation destination, chances are, you’re hoping to hit a few beaches while enjoying your getaway. So, where to start? Allow us to introduce you to some of our favorites, including sandy stretches by the ocean, the bay, and the San Jose Estuary.

Waldorf Astoria beach (on-site)

Don’t leave Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal without sunbathing on our very own beach. Located on the other side of Mexico’s only privately owned tunnel, it boasts soft sands and views of the surrounding mountains and waters. Unfortunately, this beach is not suitable for swimming due to strong currents.

Playa del Amor (3.5 miles from Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal)

Playa del Amor is the Los Cabos beach you have seen in postcards, thanks to soaring rock formations and its towering arch (“El Arco”), and is also known for having two separate seashores facing the Pacific and bay, respectively.

. #cabossanlucas #bajacalifornia #bajacaliforniaSur #ballena #coupletravel #ig_mexico #playadelamor #loscabos #mavicpro #dji #drone #fireworks #mexigers

Medano Beach (6.2 miles)

Medano Beach boasts white sands, calm swimmable waters, and proximity to restaurants and spas offering massage services. Jet skiing, kayaking, banana boating, and parasailing are the common pastimes to enjoy here.

Santa Maria Beach (9.2 miles)

Santa Maria Beach comprises a palapa-dotted horseshoe-shaped seashore featuring thick, coarse grains of sand. Many consider it one of Los Cabos’ best snorkeling spots, thanks its colorful reef and fish.

Chileno Beach (10.5 miles)

Chileno Beach is a popular, fairly undeveloped and well-maintained swimming beach with rocky outcrops and tidepools, easily accessible from both of the Cabos. One unusual activity you can try here, during whale migration season, is plunging underwater and listening for humpbacks’ mating songs.

The Beach at San Jose Estuary (13.8 miles)

The non-swimmable beach at San Jose Estuary has a decidedly more unique and marsh-like atmosphere than Cabos’ other shores, thanks to seagrape, pickleweed, willows, cattails, and plants that attract crabs, fish, and seabirds.
