About the Chefs:

Chef Sarah Grueneberg cut her teeth at the award-winning Spiaggia in Houston, starting on the line before rising through the ranks all the way to Executive Chef. While there, she received a Michelin star for her efforts three years running. Chef Grueneberg’s honors and decorations are too numerous to list, but include a 2017 James Beard Award, a 2011 honor for Eater Chicago’s “Chef of the Year,” and finalist honors on both “Top Chef: Texas” and “Iron Chef Gauntlet.” Her Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio in Chicago has also received numerous accolades, including being named one of “America’s Best Restaurants'' by Food & Wine, one of GQ’s “12 Best New Restaurants,” and "Restaurant of the Year” in the 2018 Jean Banchet Awards.

Chef Grueneberg is joined at this event by acclaimed award-winning pastry chef Mindy Segal. Chef Segal has created delectably decadent desserts at such exceptional eateries as Spago, Gordon, and Charlie Trotter’s. Today, she heads up her own Chicago restaurant, HotChocolate. In addition, Chef Segal was awarded the James Beard Foundation’s 2016 “Outstanding Pastry Chef” award and is a frequent guest on “The Today Show,” “The Martha Stewart Show,” The Food Network, and The Cooking Channel. Her passionately crafted work has been featured in O Magazine, GQ, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Bon Appétit, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
