One of nature’s most delightful signs of seasons changing—hundreds of whales migrate from the fridied waters of the Arctic to the warm, calm waters surrounding the Baja Peninsula.

From December to April, there is truly no better place to view such a spectacle than Los Cabos. Here are six things you need to know about whale watching season during your stay at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal.

SIX MONTHS OF EXCEPTIONAL VIEWING

By late December, the whales make their way south completing the 19,312-jm (12,000-mile) migration, staying until April when they repeat their journey northward. Ideal climate, shallow waters, salinity, and abundant marine life make the bays and lagoons of Los Cabos the perfect place for whales to birth and rear their young. Of the eleven species of whales found around the globe, eight venture to the waters off Los Cabos, including minke, bryde, fin, sei, humpback, gray and blue. This six-month, round-trip sojourn is the longest trip made by any animal in the world. Staying in Los Cabos, you always have a front-row seat to the spectacular show.
